LOTD #8 ............. 02-28-2010

It's catching on! Spring Fever!!

My sister Amy and I were doing what we normally do when we procrastinate... we shopped! (big surprise there) fri.day had a new release (just for the record she knew about it first and TP'd me, so this LOTD is ALL HER FAULT!! XD ) Actually, I think subscription groups don't like me, I usually get my notices a day late lol. Anyways, I'm off track...

fri.day had a cute new dress release called Spring Bloom Dress. Which I love, but... yes there's a but. Unless you have a rather mild AO or you're OK with your skin/body parts showing every time you move and you're cool with being able to look up the adorably frilly, very well textured sculpty prim skirt, then it might not be the dress for you to wear on a day to day basis. It might be better suited for photographic purposes. But nonetheless, I still love it and you *can* make it work. (See picture) My sis and I decided we'll use the shirt layer and shorten the skirt part, hike it up a lil bit and voila! You have a nice spring babydoll top! I paired it with some of my new favorite jeans from Emjay, threw on a pair of flats and I was on my way! I don't know where I was going to but I felt pretty, oh so pretty nonetheless.

Big surprise here *squee* The bouquet necklace I made matched perfectlyyyyyy! Shameless self plugging I know but it's true! XD

The other new thing I got was Laqroki's new "Pearl" skin. I have always liked LAQ glow skins. I just couldn't find one that I liked *on* me. But finally, it's a miracle! They released the "Pearl" skin, which offers a blonde hair base and I'm in skin puta heaven! LAQ skins are also reasonably priced at $1990L for ten different make-ups. Not too shabby, methinks. I've also had to grab the tata enhancers, because I love that smushed "look mom! no bra!" look.

LOTD #7 ............. 02-19-2010

It feels like ages since I've left my build cave... and I was feeling a bit trapped on my sim. So you know what that means? Shopping Spree!!! (most of which revolved around shoes, which I'll share in a later post). Anyways, I found this adorable skirt with refreshing spring colors at a store I've never been to before. I love it so much I felt I needed to build an outfit around it. I don't know about you, but I like to have in SL what I can't have in RL. Every time I look out my window, all I see is lots and lots of snow. I've been going walking in about two foot of snow nearly every day (and even managed to take a tumble, ouch), so I felt it was time to warm things up in SL while mother nature works on our real world.

I've created a nice spring look with a soft flowy skirt and a complimenting happy spring shirt. I love to layer, and since I know it can get chilly even in spring, I'm keeping my avi warm with a nice hoodie. ;P To add to the casual but very girly look, I'm wearing some simple ballet flats and am sporting one of Truth's newest hairstyles. To top it off, I added some pretty and delicate accessories. I was happy to see that the "Bouquet" necklace and "Innocence" anklet matched with the look I was going for perfectly.

This is a special LOTD post... I bet you're wondering why.

See those poses I'm using? Aren't they fabulous? ^_^
Well you can't have them, they're MINE! I KID! I KID!

The poses are from Katey Coppola of Glitterati. The particular poses I'm using are from her exclusive SLDD (Second Life Daily Deals) set, "Headshot 2". You can get yours on Thursday, January 28, 2010 beginning at midnight. There will only be 1000 available so make sure you line up for them! In my opinion, the best thing about the poses is they work for just about anyone! Content creators for ads, bloggers or even casual & professional picture takers because they're so versatile! You can load them into your pose stand and use them for up close pictures featuring the torso & face or panned out shots. There's standing and even a laying pose. I couldn't fit all of the poses in my picture, but if you want to see all of the options, head over to Katey's flickr page by clicking here to see the ad she created for it.

REMEMBER: These will ONLY be available ON Thursday, January 28th for that entire day. So if you don't run and get them you'll miss out. And frankly, that would be emosad.

Also, she's releasing a rework of her "Headshot" pose pack which you can see here. I've used this numerous times in ads since I'm a content creator. I often need close up shots that just turn the head in a different direction and they work perfect!
